National Public Safety Telecommunications Week
NATIONAL PUBLIC SAFETY TELECOMMUNICATIONS WEEK
APRIL 10-16, 2011
Garfield County is celebrating the second full week of April as National Public Safety Telecommunications Week. This week honors the thousands of men and women who respond to emergency calls, dispatch emergency professionals and equipment, and render life-saving assistance to the world’s citizens.
Remember when you call 911 from your home phone in Garfield County or from a cell phone within our area, the person answering your call works right here in the Garfield County Sheriff's Office. Our dispatchers are certified through the Washington State Criminal Justice Training Commission (CJTC) Telecommunicators courses, Washington State Patrol ACCESS, the National Academy of Emergency Medical Dispatch (EMD), and the American Heart Association CPR & First Aid courses. They spend many hours each year in continuing education, both online and in class rooms, so that they can provide the best customer service and emergency response to each of your calls.
Thank your local 911 dispatchers today!
