Garfield County Recycling

Does Garfield County Recycle?  Of course we do!  Garfield County currently operates a recycling drop-off collection site for our community and in fact have just updated our facilities for EASY ACCESS!!  The following items are collected at the station:

  • Newspaper:  Newspaper, Paper inserts, Magazines, Telephone directories, Paperback books, Catalogs, Office paper, Tin can labels, Open discarded mail.

  • Cardboard:  Corrugated boxes, Paper bags, Cereal and food boxes, Beverage cases, Map and dispernser tubes. Box tape and staples are OK. PLEASE FLATTEN!!!
  • WE ARE NO LONGER ACCEPTING GLASS!!!  Due to an environmental reclassification of glass as a major contaminate, we made a decision for our community to no longer accept it for processing.

PLASTICS: YOU CAN NOW RECYCLE YOUR PLASTIC (# 1 - # 7)!!

  • Recycling doesn't only preserve resources, it saves you money!  Unlike traditional waste management services, our program is grant funded and therefore free to residents!
  • We are stepping up our efforts...and making it easier for you to do the same!  With a refurbished home and new contractors, Lewis Clark Recyclers, we're ready to make recycling in Garfield county better and easier than ever!

 

Please make sure that recyclables are inside the transfer bins.   The bins are on the side of the County Road Department yard which is located at 19th and Arlington St.  Please call the office at (509) 843-1636 if you have any questions or concerns.
