Off-Road Vehicles and Motorcycles
Garfield County follows Washington State rules for Off-Road Vehicles (ORV) - unless otherwise specified on County Roads.
Please refer to the Washington Department of Licensing website for specific license and vehicle requirements.
- DOL title and licenses some 4-wheeled off road vehicles as Wheeled All-Terrain Vehicles (WATV). See RCW 46.09.310 (19)
What is an off-road vehicle (ORV)?
An ORV is a non-street-registered vehicle with 2, 3, or 4 wheels. They're used for recreational purposes on:
- Non-highway roads.
- Trails.
- Snow.
- Water.
- Other natural terrain.
The Off-Road Vehicle Ordinance is currently being reviewed by the Garfield County Commissioner's.
